<span style="font-size: large;">Here is a fruity and refreshing punch that I found on <a href="http://www.tasteofhome.com/Recipes/Tangy-Party-Punch" target="_blank">Taste of Home</a>. I have found many wonderful recipes on the Taste of Home website. I made this for my daughter Andrea's Birthday. It is colorful and delicious. It would be great for a bridal or baby shower too!</span></div>

I doubled the recipe, using one packet of Hidden Valley ranch dressing mix and added a little extra bacon. A change I would make to this recipe is just to serve the bacon on top of the burgers.You can also freeze the uncooked burgers,for later use. I think I'll change the name to, yummy burgers. My family really enjoyed them. <span style="font-size: large; text-align: justify;">My twin sister Denise shared this great cookie recipe with me. She prepared them, substituting chocolate chips for the peanut butter chips. I included them in our family's 2016 Christmas party. I prepared mine by using the peanut butter chips as a glaze on top of each cookie. <span style="font-size: large;"><br /></span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<span style="font-size: large;">My daughter Alisha and granddaughter Savannah took me to the Homeplace restaurant for a belated birthday dinner. This was my first visit to the restaurant and I enjoyed it very much! I like the old 1907 farmhouse, the decor and country landscape. We even spotted a black bear for a brief moment just as we where arriving at the restaurant! It's not every day we see a bear, so that was exciting for all of us! The Homeplace's Facebook page can be found here...<a href="https://www.facebook.com/The-Homeplace-Restaurant-115564841808913/">The Homeplace</a></span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<span style="font-size: large;">The restaurant is located 4968 Catawba Valley, Dr. in Catawba, Va. </span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<span style="font-size: large;">I look forward to another visit soon!</span></div>

Thank you Ashley! </span><span style="font-family: "verdana" , sans-serif; line-height: 19.32px;"> I doubled most of the sauce ingredients except the ground beef and water, I used 3-lbs. I also combined 10-oz. ricotta cheese with 10-oz. cottage cheese. I love this combination of cheeses, combined with the tomato sauce, it's delicious! I always add extra mozzarella cheese. It completely fills a 9 X 13-inch baking dish. With extra lasagna noodles and sauce left over. My changes to this recipe are shown in the parenthesis below. A perfect family meal with garlic toast and a salad! Enjoy!</span></span><br />

<b><span style="font-family: "verdana" , sans-serif; font-size: large;">Chef Salads With Fruit</span></b></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<span style="font-family: "verdana" , sans-serif; font-size: large;">Chef salads with fruit, that I made for dinner, at my family's request. I like chef salads because they are easily made to suit everyone's taste. No recipe required, just include your favorites! I made these using chopped lettuce, cucumbers, tomatoes, green peppers, shredded carrots, diced apples, strawberries, hard boiled eggs, cubed ham and turkey. I took the photo before adding the dressing and other toppings such as bacon, shredded cheese, chow mein noodles, and I like adding raisins to my salad.</span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<span style="font-family: "verdana" , sans-serif; font-size: large;">Except for the tomatoes, we like serving our tomatoes at room temperature, for best flavor. I like that all other ingredients can be prepared ahead of time and stored in the refrigerator until you are ready to assemble the salads and serve.</span></div>

<span style="font-family: "verdana" , sans-serif;"><b>My Newest Decorated Cookie</b></span><br />
<span style="font-family: "verdana" , sans-serif;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: "verdana" , sans-serif; font-size: large;">I decorated my first cookie for a cookie decorating challenge on <a href="http://cookieconnection.juliausher.com/clip/practice-bakes-perfect-inspiration-challenge-1">Cookie Connection</a> May, 2014. If you are interested in learning about cookie decorating, <a href="http://cookieconnection.juliausher.com/home">Cookie Connection</a> is a wonderful place to visit, become a member at no cost, and enjoy amazing cookie art from all over the world. I enjoy my time there, very much, and visit frequently. </span><br />
<span style="font-family: "verdana" , sans-serif; font-size: large;">I visit every cookie decorating blog/site that I know of. </span><br />
<span style="font-family: "verdana" , sans-serif; font-size: large;">One of the first sites I found about cookie decorating, was <a href="http://www.sweetsugarbelle.com/">The Sweet Adventures of Sugarbelle</a> I loved her blog from the first visit and enjoy visiting her blog as often as I can. Her royal icing recipe is the only recipe I've tried so far. She has amazing talent and her blog is filled with wonderful, creative tutorials. </span><br />
<span style="font-family: "verdana" , sans-serif; font-size: large;">I try to learn as many decorating techniques that I can. One of my favorite cookie decorating past times, is cookie decorating video tutorials and admiring the work of other decorator's.</span></div>
</div>
<div style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;">
<div style="text-align: center;">
<span style="font-family: "verdana" , sans-serif; font-size: large;">I have much to learn and understand that the most important thing, is not to give up and keep practicing. So that's what I plan to do.</span><br />

<span style="font-family: "verdana" , sans-serif; font-size: large;">Practice Bakes Perfect Challenge #7</span><br />
<span style="font-size: large;"><span style="font-family: "verdana" , sans-serif;">This is my lastest entry in the Practice Bakes Perfect Challenge #7 on </span><a href="http://cookieconnection.juliausher.com/clip/img-0341" style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;">Cookie Connection</a><span style="font-family: "verdana" , sans-serif;">.</span></span></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<span style="font-family: "verdana" , sans-serif; font-size: large;">The Santa, which is approximately 11-1/2 inches tall, Christmas tree, doll, train, teddy bear and candy cane were hand cut. The gifts and the poodle are royal icing transfers. I added sixlet candies to the Christmas tree, sanding sugar to Santa's suit and handpainted the details, using Americolor gel paste food coloring and water.</span></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<span style="font-family: "verdana" , sans-serif; font-size: large;">I used the Basic rolled sugar cookie recipe, from <a href="http://www.karenscookies.net/Cookie-Decorating-Recipes_ep_68-1.html#recipe01">Karen's Cookies</a>, and <a href="http://www.sweetsugarbelle.com/2014/02/royal-icing-for-cookie-decorating/">Sugarbelle's</a>, royal icing recipe. </span></div>
</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEidBt1zM-KR2mZLRvL0H_dNXCSlZr9MTj0SCDkfKqxDd-c4ILZ9DfebGcPC-BAs1sMMSwIPyePWasOFF2Fx1uXD0P_pbboaDDniQVv7qo4d-SER_qQiTFdWETEWACWA7xSGc7dL6HXh0Zg/s1600/Santa+Design+Watermarked.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="400" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEidBt1zM-KR2mZLRvL0H_dNXCSlZr9MTj0SCDkfKqxDd-c4ILZ9DfebGcPC-BAs1sMMSwIPyePWasOFF2Fx1uXD0P_pbboaDDniQVv7qo4d-SER_qQiTFdWETEWACWA7xSGc7dL6HXh0Zg/s1600/Santa+Design+Watermarked.jpg" width="298" /></a></div>
<span style="font-family: "verdana" , sans-serif; font-size: large;">This cookie project was inspired by the Santa cookie cutter shown above. The above photo, shows my original idea and the Santa I drew, starting with the outline of the cookie cutter I chose for this project. </span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<span style="font-family: "verdana" , sans-serif; font-size: large;">My original plan was to have Santa holding the toys in his arms, But when making adjustments, to Santa's arms, it broke, and I could not use it. </span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<span style="font-family: "verdana" , sans-serif; font-size: large;">This project did not turn out as well as I planned. I actually like my drawn Santa better than my Santa cookie. Initially, I was not going to enter it, but with the encouragement of my daughter, decided to enter it after all.</span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<span style="font-family: "verdana" , sans-serif; font-size: large;">Merry Christmas everyone!</span></div>

<span style="color: #37404e; font-family: "verdana" , sans-serif; font-size: large; line-height: 20px;">Opening day of our local fair is always a fun time! I love to be one of the first in the door on opening day of the exhibits. Not only to see if I have won any ribbons, but to also enjoy all of the exhibits. Especially the baked goods, while they still look the best. This is a photo, of some of the pickles, jams, jellies and preserves and some of the canned vegetables at the Salem, Va. Fair. Ribbons everywhere!</span></div>

Fair. I only entered 2 baked items, one was my pumpkin whoopie pies and a peanut butter cookie. When I visited the fair on opening day, I did not see a ribbon on my peanut </span><span class="text_exposed_show" style="color: #37404e; display: inline; line-height: 20px;">butter cookies. So I just thought they did not place. But I received a Salem Fair envelope in the mail today. Inside, was the exhibitor's tag for my peanut butter cookies and attached to the tag....a blue ribbon. So my peanut butter cookies did place! I received a 1st place blue ribbon. A special thanks to Melissa Bassett<a data-hovercard="/ajax/hovercard/user.php?id=1403419683" href="https://www.facebook.com/melissadepineda" style="color: #3b5998; cursor: pointer; text-decoration: none;"> </a>de Pineda, the Salem Fair exhibits coordinator, for taking the time to mail me my ribbon. She does a wonderful job seeing that everything involving the fair exhibits, runs as smoothly as possible. Just want to let her know, how much I appreciate all of her hard work! This made my day Melissa! I love surprises!</span></span><br />

<span style="font-family: "verdana" , sans-serif; font-size: large;">For this set, I used my own designs and my new toy, I mean my new KopyKake. The KopyKake is a projector that projects the image, onto a cookie or cake. For this set of cookies, I outlined and flooded, each cookie with royal icing, allowed them to dry overnight and then handpainted each cookie with a mixture of gel paste food coloring and water. I titled this set, Backyard Bird Sanctuary.</span>Dana http://www.blogger.com/profile/17381126032382878666noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8414284966490204595.post-2283964666879373032014-06-08T13:35:00.002-07:002017-04-24T16:32:04.853-07:00<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

This cookie has six pieces, the back, the stand and the four pieces of the frame. It is decorated and held together with royal icing. I titled this cookie, Mom's dress, repurposed. The idea is that, the mom in the photo, made a fabric covered picture frame with the dress she wore in the photo. Deadline for this contest is May 31st, 2014 the random draw winner will receive a wonderful embroidered apron, straight from Genoa, Italy.
